Alirajpur (Madhya Pradesh): Udaigarh Police in Alirajpur district arrested a wanted criminal on Saturday who had been on the run for two years in a murder case from Udaipur city, Rajasthan. Accused Nihal Singh was working as a mason in Udaipur.

On Sunday, Udaigarh Police presented accused Nihal Singh in court, from where he was sent to judicial custody. The arrest was made under the direction of senior officers, led by police station in-charge inspector Brajbhushan Hirve.

The case registered as crime number 193/2023, involves serious charges under sections 302, 201 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Nihal Singh (45), is a resident of Kundalvasa village. After receiving a tip-off, a police team was dispatched to Udaipur, where they successfully located and arrested him.

During questioning, the police recovered the weapon used in the crime. Alirajpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Vyas had announced a reward of Rs 10k for information leading to the arrest of the accused.

The arrest is part of a larger campaign in Alirajpur district to capture absconding criminals, guided by Additional Superintendent of Police Pradeep Patel and SDOP Jobat Neeraj Namdev. The police are committed to ensure safety and justice in the community.
