Indore : The anti-ragging committee of St Paul College summoned two students, who allegedly ragged and thrashed one of their juniors, and eye-witnesses of the incident for recording their statements.

The committee met on Tuesday and observed that prima facie it’s a case of thrashing, which took place due to a dispute between BCom first semester student Abhimanyu Sankath and two BBA second semester students Sehal and Fizal.

However, the committee members decided to reach conclusion only after hearing the side of the accused students and statements of eye-witnesses.

On Tuesday, the committee members recorded the statement of Abhimanyu who reiterated the charges of ragging by Sehal and Fizal.

He alleged that the duo had asked him to bring water for them and when he refused, they beat him up.

A case was registered by Palasia police in this connection while the college suspended the accused students for 15 days.

On Tuesday, the Dean Student Welfare Dr Rajeev Dixit citing media reports asked the college to clear the air whether the incident was of a mere thrashing or ragging too took place.

The college said that they would submit the anti-ragging committee report to the DAVV soon.
