Indore : City’s Devi Ahilyabai Holker airport has registered a record increase in passenger, freight and aircraft movement in April, this year.

The reasons are stated to be General Election-2014 and rise in standard of lifestyle.

As per the report of Airport Authority of India (AAI), the Indore airport recoded 16.8 percent rise in aircraft movement in comparison to April 2013. However, the aircraft movement at national level rose to phenomenal 101.87 percent in the first month of this fiscal. The obvious reason is General Elections.

In term of passenger movement, there is 7.4 percent increase at the city airport during the period. The reason is higher growth in traffic due to increase in frequency of airlines. At the national level, this figure stands at 10.55 percent, while in April 2013 this was 10.10 percent.
