Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The pro-Hindu organisations here on Saturday came on the streets to protest against rising incidents of violence against Hindu people in West Bengal. A demand was made to dismiss the Mamata Banerjee government while her effigy was also burnt.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists raised slogans demanding imposition of President’s rule in Bengal against the atrocities being committed on Hindus in West Bengal. VHP district secretary Ankit Chaubey said that under the guise of opposing the Waqf Amendment Act, the entire Bengal is being set ablaze in the fire of violence, Hindus are being tortured and anti-national and anti-Hindu elements are killing Hindus by torturing them. He said that the West Bengal government should be dismissed and President’s rule should be imposed.

The communal violence in Murshidabad should be investigated by the NIA, strict action should be taken against the culprits of the violence and the safety of the Hindu community living in Bengal should be ensured. This shows that the situation in Bengal is extremely worrying.

Hundreds of VHP workers reached Sankul Bhavan and raised slogans. Vishwa Hindu Parishad State co-secretary Mahesh Anjana said that the law and order of Bengal should be handed over to the Central Security Force.

During the memorandum, Mahant Achalnath, Bajrang Dal State coordinator Nitin Patidar, regional Dharmacharya Contact head Mukesh Khandelwal, district president Mahesh Tiwari, vice-president Mahesh Kumawat, treasurer Govind Ahuja, coordinator Rishabh Kushwaha and other workers were present. Likewise, Bharat Raksha Manch activists raised slogans and burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in protest against the atrocities on Hindus in West Bengal.

Along with this, it demanded immediate dissolution of the AITC government, which is responsible for the continuous violence in West Bengal and imposition of President’s rule. While submitting a memorandum addressed to the President through a police officer at Dewasgate crossing, the Manch functionaries said that after the passing of the Waqf Bill, Mamata Banerjee has become furious and is continuously perpetrating atrocities on the majority Hindus in entire West Bengal.

Women are being dishonoured, Hindu houses are being burnt and they are being murdered. Durgesh Vijayvargiya, Santosh Rathore, Suhani Kalosia, Kapil Singh Gaur, Yash Gujarati, Dhruv Dhakad, Gaurav of Bharat Raksha Manch requested that in the larger public interest, the Mamta government should be dissolved and President’s rule should be imposed.
