President Droupadi Murmu Likely To Visit Ujjain On March 30 For Vikram Samvat Celebrations

It will be for the first time that any President of India would be visiting Ujjain during a gap of six months only

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): President Droupadi Murmu is most likely to visit Ujjain on March 30 in connection with a series of local programmes.

Though the district administration received verbal instructions about President’s visit, her itinerary is not yet finalised. If her visit gets confirmed, it will be for the first time that any President of India would be visiting Ujjain during a gap of six months only.

As per available details, President Droupadi Murmu would be the chief guest of new Vikram Samvat 2082 celebrations. A number of events have been chalked out to mark the occasion of Hindu New Year on March 30 at Ram Ghat and Dutt Akhara on the banks of river Kshipra.

‘Samrat Vikramaditya Rashtreey Samman’ and ‘Samrat Vikramaditya Shikhar Samman’ are to be given to eminent personalities. Playback singer Shreya Ghoshal will present her musical programme on the same night.

Vikram University’s convocation ceremony is also slated for March 30 in which honorary DLitt would be conferred on CM Mohan Yadav and to an academician of the country.

Bhoomi pujan of renovation work of Kothi Palace and Geeta ka Chopda (pond) in Budhwaria are listed out. Besides, dedication of Samrat Vikramaditya Hotel of MP Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) is also proposed on the same day.

On Thursday evening, collector along with hosts of such events held a preparatory meeting.
