Preliminary Project Report Approved; Holkar College, Vaishnav Polytechnic Among Six Buildings To Be Rebuilt

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Years old and in a tattered state 6 government buildings including Holkar Science College, Vaishanv Polytechnic College, ITI, residential complexes in Nehru Nagar & LIG Colony and the shopping complex located on BRTS would be rebuilt.

The reconstruction of these buildings would be done under a redensification scheme. Preliminary Project Report (PPR) of the project was approved on Monday during a meeting chaired by collector Asheesh Singh. Following the approval of the State Level Empowered Committee, the work on the project would be rolled-out.

Under the proposed project, the old and dilapidated buildings of these colleges, institutions and residential buildings will be demolished and modern buildings with indoor sports hall, stadium, hostel, smart classroom and other state-of-the-art facilities will be developed.

It was informed in the meeting that administrative building, workshop, residential building, indoor sports hall, hostel, renovation of old buildings and smart class and lab will be built on the identified land of Vaishnav Polytechnic College.

Administrative building, hostel, 500-seat auditorium, indoor sports hall, stadium, examination department building and staff quarters will be built in Holkar Science College. Hostel building and stadium will be constructed in ITI campus.

Apart from this, dilapidated residential complexes located in Nehru Nagar and LIG Colony and shopping complex located on BRTS will be reconstructed. Collector Singh said that the picture of these campuses and institutions will change with the re-densification scheme.

This will not only increase the efficiency of these institutions but will also provide modern facilities to the citizens and students. He said that the reconstruction of dilapidated residential complexes and commercial complexes has become extremely necessary.

As soon as the projects are approved, their implementation will begin soon. Housing Board, related institutions and officials associated with the project were present in the meeting. Everyone agreed on the proposed development works and stressed the need for their early implementation.
