Indore: A 28-year-old pregnant woman died reportedly due to reaction of anaesthesia dose administered on her before her Caesarean delivery at PC Sethi Hospital, on Tuesday. She was referred to MY Hospital when her conditions started deteriorating but the doctors at MY Hospital declared her brought dead. Family members of the deceased alleged medical negligence but didn’t lodge any complaint with the police and other senior health officer.

As per information, one Anjum Bi, a resident of Azaad Nagar, was admitted in Government PC Sethi Hospital, on Monday. She was taken to the OT on Tuesday morning and her conditions started deteriorating when anaesthesia was administered. Due to lack of ICU in the hospital, the doctors had to refer her to MY Hospital where she was declared brought dead.

Family members of the deceased alleged that their patient died due to negligence of doctors. “They had given an over-dose of anaesthesia to the patient and didn’t provide her proper treatment after her conditions turned worse. Anjum was healthy when we admitted her and it was her third delivery,” family members of Anjum said. However, they didn’t lodge any complaint with any senior official.

“We have referred her to MY Hospital after she had some allergy after the dose of anaesthesia. We have tried to handle the situation but had to refer her as we don’t have ICU in the hospital,” in-charge of Government PC Sethi Hospital Dr MP Sharma said.
