Indore: Traders, businessmen and residents of Khajrana area staged a demonstration at the SP office, on Tuesday to protest against increasing crimes in the area and handed him a memorandum, demanding action against criminals and goons.They also threatened to start agitation if no action was taken soon.
The demonstration was held at the office of SP (East) OP Tripathi on Tuesday morning. The delegation said that the Khajrana area was normally peaceful but criminal activities have been on rise since some time now. On Monday, one Bhayyu and Chota along with their accomplices stopped the car of trader Sameer Sheikh and ransacked his car. The accused also stabbed Sameer in legs and grabbed Rs 2 lakh cash from him and fled. The accused also entered the clinic of a doctor and stabbed him and so far the police have failed to arrest him.
The angry crowd alleged police criminals nexus and demanded strict action against the culprits. The delegation threatened to start agitation if no action was taken soon whereupon SP Tripathi assured them of strict action against the criminals.
