Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Over a dozen passengers were injured after a bus fell off a bridge and overturned in Khandwa on Sunday.

According to information, the accident occurred around 5 am near Kithiya Joshi village when the bus, en route from Amravati to Indore, lost control and plunged into the Abna River.

The bus, carrying 18 passengers, was reportedly moving at a speed of 50-60 kmph when the driver failed to spot a turn due to poor visibility in the dark.

Water spilled on the road further caused the vehicle to skid and overturn. Despite the driver’s attempts to regain control, the bus fell from the bridge, leaving the passengers injured.

Then, the villagers rushed to the scene and alerted the police, who arrived with emergency services.

Thirteen ambulances were deployed to transport the injured to the district hospital. Most of the injured are residents of Rewa, Indore, and Nagpur.

The bus involved in the accident belonged to the Chauhan Company.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine if any negligence contributed to the mishap.
