Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The NEET PG 2025 examination was conducted smoothly across five centres in the city on Sunday, drawing participation from over 2,500 aspiring postgraduate medical students.
The computer-based test, which was organised by National Testing Agency (NTA), commenced at 9 am and concluded at 12:30 pm without any report of technical glitches or mismanagement.
Candidates began arriving at the centres nearly an hour before the exam undergoing a rigorous three-stage verification process including photo ID matching, electronic device screening and biometric authentication. Entry was permitted only after thorough checking of admit cards and ensuring no prohibited items like smartwatches or earphones were carried into the exam hall.
Clinical focus in question paper
This year’s exam emphasised practical application, with a large number of questions based on clinical case studies. The paper consisted of 200 questions to be attempted in three and a half hours. Candidates described the difficulty level as ranging from easy to moderate, though some clinical questions were considered time-consuming and required deeper thought.
According to subject expert Dr Avneesh Pandey, the paper leaned heavily towards Pharmacology, Gynecology, Ophthalmology and Surgery. He noted that questions were also drawn from previous years’ papers, but with an increased focus on conceptual understanding and application over rote memorisation.
Structured in three sections
The question paper was divided into three main sections:
Section A (45 questions): Included Biochemistry (13), Anatomy (16) and Physiology (16).
Section B (65 questions): Covered Microbiology (13), Pharmacology (13), Pathology (17), Forensic Medicine (17) and Social & Preventive Medicine (5).
Section C (90 questions): Featured General Medicine including Dermatology and Psychiatry (30), ENT (30), General Surgery including Orthopedics, Anesthesia, and Radiology (4), Obstetrics and Gynecology (20), Pediatrics (3) and Ophthalmology (3).
