Indore (Madhya Pradesh): All bookings for the two Kumbh Special trains from Indore to Prayagraj have been completely filled.
These trains are set to depart in January and February, and currently, there are no confirmed seats available on either of them.
A new special train service between Mhow and Barauni has been introduced to cater to the increased demand for travel to Prayagraj during the Mahakumbh.
This train will run on January 22 and 25, and February 8 and 22. However, the train's sleeper, third AC, and second AC classes are already fully booked until February, and only waiting list tickets are now available.
Similarly, the only flight from Indore to Prayagraj operated by Madhya Pradesh has also seen high demand.
The basic seats priced at ₹4,000 have been fully booked, while only a few seats remain for the ₹12,000 fare.
With the increasing demand for travel, passengers are being advised to explore other options.
The special train will depart from Mhow at 1:45 PM, reach Indore at 2:30 PM, and after a 10-minute stop, it will proceed to Prayagraj, reaching there at 10:10 AM the next day. The return journey will leave Ballia at 11:45 PM and reach Prayagraj at 10:20 AM.
The train will then continue on to Indore and Mhow the following morning.
Due to the long waiting list for the regular Mhow-Prayagraj Express, passengers are facing difficulties, and there is a growing demand for additional trains.
The Kumbh Special trains will consist of 20 coaches, including 2 general, 12 sleeper, 1 second AC, 3 third AC, and 2 SLR coaches. These trains will be run using old ICF racks and will stop at various stations along the route, including Indore Junction, Ujjain Junction, Bina Junction, Lalitpur Junction, Prayagraj Junction, and several others.
The direct flight from Indore to Prayagraj, operated by Alliance Air, offers bookings in three categories.
The bookings for the Super Saver category have already been closed as all seats were filled.
Currently, bookings are open for the Value category (₹12,074 to ₹14,699) and the Flexible category (₹20,999).
