Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): In a case of alleged corporal punishment, a father of class 6th students of Government Secondary School, Girdauda village in the district has accused a teacher of physically harassing his daughter and four other students by making them do 100 sit-ups as a part of the punishment.
The father of the student, Rajesh Suthar complained that five children have been subjected to severe punishment and made to do 100 sit-ups. This has resulted in his daughter Komal being admitted to the district hospital as she is in a lot of pain and is unable to stand/walk. Taking cognisance of the matter Dilip Chhajed, chairman of the Human Rights Monitoring Committee on Friday approached the district collector, education officials and the education minister, urging them to intervene in the matter and conduct a thorough inquiry as it amounts to a violation of child rights and demanded strict action against the accused teacher. While the teacher Mala has completely denied these allegations.
