Indore : Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday came heavily down on Indore Municipal Commissioner for failing to comply with its order regarding selection of villages for inclusion in the municipal limits.

The court made the Commissioner to read out its previous order and explain why it’s not been adhered to.

The court expressed its dissatisfaction with the attitude adopted by the Indore Municipal Corporation over the inclusion of villages into municipal limits and fixed a day’s time for explanation over the criteria adopted for selection of villages for merger.

On a petition challenging the inclusion of 29 villages in municipal limits, the court in its order dated March 7, 2014 had directed the IMS to carry out survey of 90 villages around the city and prepare a detailed report explaining why they cannot be merged in its limits and on what ground 29 villages were chose for the purpose. The IMC was supposed to within three months from the date of order and file its reply.
