Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Fair Officer Asheesh Singh reviewed the crowd management and traffic arrangements under the upcoming Simhastha Mahaparv-2028 in the Administrative Complex Building on Saturday.
In the meeting, the creation of temporary parking spaces on the main routes of traffic viz Indore Road, Dewas Road, Unhel Road, Badnagar Road, Agar Road and Maksi Road was discussed. The creation of temporary traffic zone, range centre, police station was also discussed.
The Fair Officer directed to prepare a definite action plan for the parking arrangement of vehicles coming from outside during Simhastha and instructed to operate the traffic system at two levels.
Instructions were given to prepare a detailed action plan for the number of devotees coming there and the holding capacity at the ghat for crowd management at the ghats. Instructions were given to install indicators for reaching the major ghats at various places.
It was informed in the meeting that for crowd management, traffic management and smooth movement of devotees during Simhastha, there is a plan to divide the entire fair area into various types of zones, ranges, sectors and police stations, in which there is an action plan to create 10 temporary zones, 20 temporary ranges, 40 temporary sectors, 80 temporary police stations, 01 temporary cyber police station and 10 temporary cyber help desks.
Collector Raushan Kumar Singh, SP Pradeep Sharma, Zila Panchayat CEO Jayati Singh, ADM Pratham Kaushik, Ujjain Municipal Corporation commissioner Ashish Pathak, CEO Smart City Sandeep Shiva and officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
