Burhanpur (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking incident has unfolded in Ramakheda village, where blood-soaked bodies of a husband and wife were discovered on Sunday.

As per reports, the incident occurred under Khaknar police station jurisdiction. The police were alerted and arrived at the scene on Sunday morning to gather evidence and send bodies for post-mortem.

Police suspected that the couple's younger brother may be involved in the gruesome killings, attributed to an ongoing land dispute. Victims, Bhangra Singh (55), and his wife Jema Bai, (50), lived in a hut on their field.

Concerned for their well-being after failing to reach them over phone, their son sought help from a neighbour, who later found the couple dead. The son revealed that his father had no known enemies except for a land dispute with his younger uncle and aunt.

They had repeatedly threatened his father’s life. Upon arriving at the scene, he found their house locked and a bike missing from there, raising suspicions about their involvement.

Station in-charge Abhishek Jadhav said that investigations are underway, with family members being questioned in the case. Injury marks were found on their head. Post-mortem reports are awaited. A case was registered under section 103-1 of BNS and investigations were launched in the case. The couple's son revealed that tensions over land demarcation had escalated recently and the murders may have stemmed from this.
