Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): Former corporator Ramesh Mali, 55, was injured after some unidentified miscreant fired at him with a shrapnel gun on Wednesday in Ward 14. At the time of the incident, he was heading toward the polling booth in Rajiv Nagar to vote.

Meanwhile, someone near Rajiv Nagar flour mill fired at him. The bullet from the gun hit Ramesh Mali's thigh. After which he immediately reached the district hospital, where his treatment is going on.

Additional superintendent of police Sunder Singh Dinesh was confident that the police would quickly nab the culprit

Meanwhile, except for some minor incidents, voting ended peacefully for electing councillors in 40 wards of Neemuch municipality. A total of 153 candidates are in the fray in the district and the district recorded a 69.06 per cent vote till 5 pm. In Jeeran, the total voting percentage stands around 88.84 per cent till 5 pm. The counting of votes will take place on July 17. In the last municipal election, 82 per cent voter turnout was recorded.
