Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Seeking a public apology from him, Math Mandir Pujari Sangathan has given a three-day ultimatum to BJP MLA Golu Shukla’s son Rudraksh, who allegedly forced his way into the revered Mata Tekri temple in Dewas late Friday night, and beat the temple priest to get the shrine gates opened.

Opening a front against Rudraksh, priest outfit on Sunday issued a formal letter calling for Rudraksh to apologise to Maa Jagdamba Bhavani and the priests of the Nath sect within three days.

“If no apology is issued within the given time frame, priests from across the Hindu community will express their collective anger,” said Rishabh Bairagi, president of the organisation. Bairagi visited the temple priest in Dewas on Sunday and said he would return on Monday to further assess the situation. “The priest who was harassed is a member of our organisation. We are standing firmly with him,” he added.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 12:45 AM on Friday night when Rudraksh Shukla and his associates, in a convoy of about a dozen vehicles, arrived at the temple. Despite the temple being closed, they allegedly forced the priest to open the doors for a private worship session. When the priest declined, citing temple protocols, an argument ensued, followed by alleged abuse and physical assault.

The priest's family claims that threats were made and the priest was slapped. On the complaint of the priest, an FIR was lodged into the matter.
