Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a remarkable display of medical expertise and swift response, doctors at MY Hospital saved the life of a 30-year-old man after an iron rod pierced his neck in a workplace accident.
The injured, Saddam, a mason from Anand Nagar in Khargone district, sustained the critical injury on April 1 around 10:30 am while at work. He was initially taken to the district hospital in Khargone and later referred to MY Hospital, Indore, due to the severity of his condition.
On arrival, a team of surgeons led by Dr Arvind Shukla immediately undertook an emergency operation. The surgical team included Dr Avinash Gautam, Dr Upendra Pandey, Dr Ramendra Gurjar, senior resident Dr Subrajit Nayak, along with junior doctors.
The complex surgery was successfully carried out, and the iron rod was safely removed, saving the patient’s life. The anaesthesia team, led by Dr Shalini Jain, played a crucial role in ensuring the procedure was conducted smoothly.
Doctors said that timely intervention and coordinated teamwork were key factors in saving the patient’s life.
