Indore (Madhya Pradesh): During a surprise inspection of MY Hospital’s Casualty and Emergency Trauma & Accident Ward, dean of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Dr Arvind Ghanghoria issued a strict warning to outsourced staff for not reporting for duty on time. He expressed serious concern over patients being forced to wait for treatment due to staff negligence.

While inspecting the Emergency and OR-3 wards, Dr Ghanghoria emphasised that timely arrival of staff was crucial for smooth functioning of hospital services and warned of strict action on repeated delays and unprofessional behaviour.

“Patients should not be made to wait under any circumstances,” said Dr Ghanghoria, highlighting the need for efficiency and compassion in patient care.

He also interacted with the indoor patients, listened to their grievances and directed nursing officers to immediately act on issues related to cleanliness and facility management.

The dean further reviewed the registration counter in the casualty department and instructed that patient registration must be swift and staff must show courteous behaviour. He called for better seating and drinking water facilities for attendants, ensuring no visitor was left neglected.

Dr Ghanghoria also checked the availability of stretchers, wheelchairs and ward boys outside the casualty gate and directed that arrangements be improved to facilitate easier patient transfers. He also gave orders for improving cleanliness and promoting greenery on the hospital premises.

The inspection was carried out in the presence of MY Hospital superintendent Dr Ashok Yadav, casualty in-charge Dr Paresh Sodhiya, Dr Naveen Gupta and other hospital staff.
