Massive Forest Fire Break Out In Anuppur Road Due To Villagers' Negligence |

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A massive forest fire broke out in the Kirar Ghat region along the Anuppur-Amarkantak. The blaze, reportedly triggered by the negligence of villagers who had entered the forest to collect Mahua, has now spread around area of one kilometre.

Blaze couldn't be doused because of low visibility

The incident occurred on Monday late evening and was first noticed by passersby, who immediately informed the forest department. The forest officials reached the spot by evening but couldn't control the blaze because of low visibility.

According to sources, the fire started when the villagers lit a small fire near Mahua trees. However the fire quickly intensified because of wind and dry leaves, turning it into a massive forest fire.

Currently, around 15 to 20 forest department personnel are engaged in fire control operations, using limited resources to douse the flames. Despite continuous efforts, the fire has not been completely brought under control yet.

Second fire brigade called from Chachai

Anuppur Ranger Swarn Gaurav Singh informed that the fire brigade was called from Anuppur to control the fire. However, after the water supply ran out, another fire brigade had to be summoned from Chachai
