Indore : The District Collector P Narahari on Wednesday announced plans to act strict against marriage gardens failing to abide by the order under Section 144 which mandates them to reserve 35 per cent of open space for parking.

Marriage function halls, community halls and hotels which do have 35% open space for parking will not be allowed to hold any functions, the collector said.

As per the order all marriage function halls, community halls and hotels will have to keep separate entrance for function hall and parking area with appropriate signboards.

Owners of all marriage function halls, community halls and hotels will deploy minimum of four security guards at their expense who will direct the guests to the main venue and parking area.

The order also stipulates that welcoming ceremony of marriage procession, from now, will be held within a designated area of the premises of the marriage function halls, community halls and hotels instead of outside the venue on the roads to avoid traffic jams. Moreover, the DJ’s sound systems will be on controlled volume so as to not disturb general public and residents within the vicinity of marriage function halls, community halls and hotels. The order states that the owners of the marriage function halls, community halls and hotels along with parents/guardians of groom/bride will be held responsible for traffic chaos arising due to the functions.

Similarly organisers of religious processions, political rallies and public meetings etc will be responsible for maintaining smooth traffic flow.

Finally the order bans carrying, displaying and discharging of fire arms during barats, religious processions and parties and failure to adhere to the order will result in imprisonment, fines and cancellation of the arm’s license.
