Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): Under the aegis of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Mahasangh district unit has sent a memorandum to President Ram Nath Kovind through Governor Anandiben Patel in which a request has been made to repeal farm laws.
National Farmers Labour Federation District President Mukesh Vyas Ladusa mentioned in the memorandum that during corona pandemic, when the rest of the country's economy came to a standstill, farmers worked hard without caring for their lives and there was record production.
But instead of being thankful, the Government of India introduced three laws, which will ruin farming sector as business companies will call the shots. Penalty for burning stubbles has further added to their troubles.
The memorandum further stated that farmers are in debt and more than 4 lakh farmers were forced to commit suicide in last 30 years. That's why they are demanding that farmers should get guarantee of purchase of their entire crop at the minimum support price according to Swaminathan Commission formula. More than 500 farmers lost lives in the farmers’ movement.
Ladusa said due to non-demarcation by revenue department in the district at the right time, the disputes between farmers are increasing. Demarcation should be done soon. He said that the crop insurance amount for 2020-21 should be given to the farmers at the earliest.
