Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): The second phase of elections was completed in a peaceful way at Bhanpura and Sitamau Janpad Panchayats on Friday. Tokens were given to voters at more than 200 polling stations in Bhanpura and Sitamau areas and the voting continued till 8:00 pm. Immediately after polling, counting of votes also took place which continued till late night. The official declaration of the results will be done later.
Out of 1, 88, 176 voters, 1, 67, 211 voters cast their votes in 338 gram panchayats of Sitamau. Thus the voter turnout was 88.86 per cent. The ratio of male and female voting was 90. 22 and 87.45 per cent respectively.
In 159 gram panchayats of Bhanpura, 70, 128 voters out of 82, 980 voters cast their votes with the percentage of male voters being 85.01 and that of female voters being 83.99 for a total voter turnout of 84. 51 per cent.
The district election officer expressed happiness at the election arrangements.
