Man Lies On Railway Track After Wife Refuses To Return From 'Mayka'

The man allegedly committed suicide after his wife refused to return from her parents’ house when he went to bring her home.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man’s head and legs were severed from his torso after he lay down on a railway track in an intoxicated state and a train ran over him, cutting his body into three pieces.

The man allegedly committed suicide after his wife refused to return from her parents’ house when he went to bring her home.

The incident occurred at the railway track near Kumhedi under Lasudia police station limits on Friday evening.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Jagdish Kewat, a resident of Kabit Khedi. His family members said that Jagdish was a vegetable vendor. He was married around two years ago and his wife had gone to her parental home recently. Jagdish had visited his in-laws’ house, hoping she would return with him but she refused.

Heartbroken, he returned home, went to the railway track under the influence of liquor and lay down. The family members came to know about the incident when one of their acquaintances called them after seeing his body on the railway track. The police began a probe to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
