Major Train Accident Averted In Madhya Pradesh Khandwa After Track Crack Spotted

Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh): A major rail accident was averted in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district on Sunday, after a keyman noticed a crack on the railway track and managed to stop an approaching train just in time.

According to information, the incident took place in the Barud-Chhanera section under the Bhopal rail division. As per reports, the train was traveling from Itarsi to Bhusawal. 

As the train was approaching in high speed, a keyman spotted a gap in one of the railway lines, i.e., one section of the track was separated from the other.

He then, immediately signaled the 04159 Holiday Special train to stop.

All passengers safe

Soon after, railway staff reached the spot and began repair work on the damaged track. The exact cause of the crack is yet to be ascertained.

Passengers on board panicked after learning about the incident but were relieved that the train was halted in time. 

The train is currently standing on the broken track, and passengers are waiting for repairs to be completed. As soon as the repair work is concluded, the journey can continue.

Officials said that if the crack had gone unnoticed, the train could have derailed, leading to a major accident.
