Indore : Mahila thana police on Tuesday nabbed a person, who allegedly purchased a girl from Shahdol and pushed her into flesh trade.
The accused mischievously surrendered before the Tukoganj police station for his involvement in another case and was sent to jail, the police said. Police are interrogating the accused.
Mahila thana In-charge Jyoti Sharma said that the accused, Jitendra Sharma, was arrested for his alleged involvement in pushing a 22-year-old girl into flesh trade. She said few days ago, a 22-year-old girl approached the IG and lodged a complaint against Jitendra and two others. The Police are searching for the other two.
Jyoti added that an accused Roshni Kaul allegedly brought the 22-year-old to the city from Shahdol and sold her for 1.5L to the couple, Jitendra and Reena. Later the girl managed to escape from the couple’s net and reached IG. On receiving instructions from IG the Mahila police registered a case against the trio. Police also raided the house of the couple several times but the couple couldn’t be traced. After Jitendra’s arrests the police are now searching for the other two accused Roshni and Reena.
TI added that a case against Jitendra was registered with the Tukoganj police in relation to another case and was absconding in the case. She added that when learned that Mahila police has registered a case against him, Jitendra mischievously surrendered to Tukoganj police from where he was sent to jail. The accused is in police remand till Wednesday.
