Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Devotees thronged Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple on the occasion of Mahashivratri, on Wednesday. This time, the temple allows a continuous darshan of Lord Mahakal for 44 hours. Throughout this time, the devotees will also be able to perform ‘Jal Abhishek’ on the shivling.
CM Mohan Yadav visits Mahakaleshwar Temple
On the occasion, chief minister Mohan Yadav, along with his wife, visited the temple and participated in prayers at Nandi Hall.
Sharing pictures on social media, he wrote, “Shiva is Shakti, Shiva is Devotion! Shiva is Time, Shiva is Mahakal...On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, I visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple with my spouse to seek the blessings of Baba Mahakal and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. Har Har Mahadev!”
CM Mohan Yadav, along with his wife, also perform special pooja and Aarti of Lord Mahakaleshwar inside the sanctum sanctorum of Mahakaleshwar Temple.
Singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi at Mahakal
As thousands of devotees seek blessing from Lord Mahakal, Singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi also attended 'Bhasma Aarti' at Mahakaleshwar Temple, Ujjain, on Wednesday.
Hansraj Raghuwanshi, is known for his bhakti songs like Mera Bhola Hai Bhandari, Bhole, and Mahadeva. He celebrated Maha Shivratri by offering prayers at one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas.
Speaking to the media, he expressed gratitude for Mahakal's blessings, saying, "Mahakal has always showered his blessings upon me. I prayed for his continued grace and for everyone's happiness."
During the interaction, Raghuwanshi also sang a few lines from his popular song Shiv Sama Rahe, adding a devotional touch to the occasion.
'Festival celebrated with gradeur'
Bhasm Aarti Priest Mahesh Sharma says, "The Shivratri festival was celebrated with great grandeur at the Mahakaleshwar Temple. Today marks our special day as we enter the nine-day Navratri festival, which is celebrated here at Mahakaleshwar. Over these eight days, divine decorations were performed on Lord Mahakal, which devotees from across the country and the world witnessed..."
Omkareshwar Temple adorned
In Khandwa, the Omkareshwar Temple has been beautifully decorated with flowers. The Shatdarshan Sant Mandal led a grand procession, visiting both Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar temples.
Huge footfall at Bhopal's Bhojpur Temple
In Bhopal, devotees are gathering at Gufa Mandir, Badwale Mahadev, and Bhojpur for Lord Shiva’s blessings. Similarly, in Jabalpur, Gupteshwar Temple is witnessing a steady flow of worshippers performing Abhishek. According to legend, Lord Rama visited Jabalpur during his exile to meet Sage Jabali. He stayed for about a month and established the Shiva Linga here.
