Madhya Pradesh: Wheat Procurement At MSP To Begin March 15; State Announces ₹175 Bonus

At present, the wheat harvesting is not over and the produce coming to the mandis has more moisture percentage than that prescribed by the Government of India for procurement at the support price.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Procurement of wheat of Rabi marketing year 2025-26 at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) will start in the district from March 15 now. Earlier, it was to start from March 1. The decision was taken on the demand of the farmers.

At present, the wheat harvesting is not over and the produce coming to the mandis has more moisture percentage than that prescribed by the Government of India for procurement at the support price. So, it was decided to advance the date to save the farmers from inconvenience. In the past years also, wheat procurement at the MSP started only after March 15.

State to offer Rs 175 bonus

In the Rabi marketing year 2025-26, the Government of India has increased the support price by Rs 150 per quintal and declared the support price at Rs 2425 per quintal, while the state government has announced a bonus of Rs 175 per quintal in addition to the support price of Rs 2425. Wheat will be purchased from the farmers of the state at the support price of Rs 2600 per quintal.

91 purchase centres

Ninety-one centers have been set up in the district to purchase wheat at the support price and 24523 farmers have registered themselves for selling wheat.
