Badnawar (Madhya Pradesh): Two bike riders lost their lives when their vehicle collided with a car near a poultry farm by Bamansuta village on the Badnawar-Ujjain new four-lane highway on Monday evening.
One of the victims, identified as Dashrath, a 30-year-old resident of Jhagtipada, was killed on the spot, with his severed head thrown 80 feet away. The second victim remains unidentified.
Local police responded promptly, and both were transported to the civil hospital. A post-mortem is scheduled for Tuesday morning, and police have initiated an investigation, registering a case.
It is still not clear how the accident happened. Initial reports suggested that the accident may have occurred during an attempt to overtake. However, it is also possible that it was a head-on collision.
This incident follows a tragic accident on the same road that claimed eight lives on March 13.
3 temples robbed in one night
Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): Three temples in the city were robbed in a single night. On Sunday night, thieves targeted the Shantinath Digambar Jain temple in Vikram Nagar Officers Colony, Pancheshwar Hanuman temple on Thavariya Bazar Main Road and Maa Aadya Shakti Dham temple in Railway Colony.
The robbers stole donation boxes, silver utensils and jewellery from these places of worship. At the Shantinath Digambar Jain temple, the thieves broke open the donation box in front of the idol and took the money along with silver utensils used for worship.
At Pancheshwar Hanuman temple, they took away the donation box. In Railway Colony, thieves broke the lock of donation box at Maa Aadya Shakti Dham and stole the money and silver jewellery worn by the idol.
CCTV footage from the temples captured the thieves in action. Police believe the thefts were carried out by a gang outside the state, given the simultaneous nature of the crimes. A police team has been formed to investigate, said official.
