Mhow: A 24-year-old tutor was bashed up by villagers and his head half-tonsured for sending a love-cum-threat letter to a minor girl after she rejected his advances and stopped going to his tuition class. The police somehow managed to rescue him from the angry mob.

The incident took place in Khedi Sihod village, falling under Manpur police station. Police said the accused Vaibhav Nayak (24) sent the letter to the girl who studies in Class 8, through one of his other girl students. In the letter he professed his love to her and demanded that she meet him and also used some obscene language.

He threatened that otherwise, he would kill her entire family, through black magic. Disturbed after receiving such a letter, the girl told her parents and soon the villagers came to know of it. They caught hold of the tutor, bashed him up, blackened his face, half-tonsured his head and paraded him around the village. When police received information, they rushed to the village and rescued him bloodied and bruised. Police said they will talk to other students in his tuition class to find out whether he had misbehaved with other students in a similar fashion.
