Khargone: Balakwada police have arrested five accused transporting cattle in two Eicher trucks on Sunday. The Eicher trucks too have been seized.
Police station in charge Balakwada received information from the informer that two Eicher vehicles with registration number RJ 06 GC 4499 and MH 10 CR 7491 were carrying cattle from Dhamnod side to Maharashtra for slaughter.
Taking quick action on the information, police team was formed and immediate vehicle checking was done and two Eicher vehicles were seen coming from Dhamnod side. The drivers tried to dodge the police and run but the police immediately chased the vehicles and stopped them at AB Road Khurampura. On checking, the police found ten cows and four calves in one vehicle and ten cows and four calves in another vehicle ruthlessly stuffed.
The five accused arrested by the police are, driver of Eicher MH 10 CR 7491 Abid Hussain, 22, of Gulabpura district Bhilwara (Rajasthan), Shahrukh Mohammad, 23, of Gulabpura, district Bhilwara (Rajasthan) and driver of Eicher RJ 06 GC 4499 Deepak Singh Rathore, 28, of Satana village, district Ajmer (Rajasthan), Murli Dahima, 22, of Satana village district Ajmer (Rajasthan), Narsingh Regar, 22, of Khothia police station Pulia district Bhilwara (Rajasthan). Cases have been registered against them in Balakwada police station under relevant sections.
The Eicher vehicles seized are worth Rs 16,50,000 and 20 cows and eight calves that were rescued are worth Rs 10 lakh. Police station in-charge Balakwada, Inspector Varun Tiwari and team had a special contribution in the action.
