Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): People engaged in Covid-19 vaccinations from the various departments boycotted vaccinations on Sunday, demanding a weekly off on Sunday.

Ever since the anti-corona vaccination has started in the district, the ground staff is constantly engaged in vaccination. Be it a remote hilly area or city, town or village, along with the health department, Anganwadi and ASHA workers are working on a campaign mode to achieve the target of 100% vaccination. They are working 24X7 without availing a weekly holiday in order to achieve their targets.

“We should at least get a holiday even on Sunday. We are women, we get one day a week in which we can make arrangements for our families, but due to vaccination, not even a single day is available. We remain at work even during festivals,” ASHA worker Deepali Sharma said.

The district president and vaccination in-charge of the Multipurpose Employees Union Durga Soni, also reached the residence of CMHO Dr Anita Singare in favour of her employees. She requested her to call off the vaccination drive on Sunday and the staff too refused to conduct vaccinations.

When CMHO Anita Singare saw the cameras of the media, she got furious and instead of talking to the media persons, she went inside and closed the doors of the house.
