Bhopal/Dewas (Madhya Pradesh): A couple and their two children died after a fire broke out in a milk parlour in Madhya Pradesh's Dewas on Saturday morning. The enraged flames further spread from the commercial ground floor to the residential first and second floors.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning in the Nayanpur area of Dewas.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post mortem. Police and firemen arrived at the location soon after they were informed about the fire. Cause of the fire is under investigation.

According to information, the deceased have been identified as Dinesh Carpenter, his wife Gayatri, daughter Ishika, and son Chirag. Dinesh was a dairy operator and lived on a floor above his dairy. On Saturday morning, a fire broke out in a milk parlour that was operated by Dinesh and his family. The fire got so intense that it engulfed the milk parlour and the floor above it. Police and fire extinguishers were called to the spot to douse the blaze.

Talking to ANI, Manju Yadav, Police Station Incharge, Nahar Darwaja PS, said, "In the Nayapura area, a fire incident was reported in the Aryan milk parlour. A family living upstairs, including a husband and wife with two children, died in the incident. Prima facie, it seems that a short circuit triggered flames. A special team is investigating the actual cause of the fire. The bodies of the families have been recovered by the fire brigade and police officials".

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. The true cause of the blaze will be unearthed after investigations are completed.
