Khandwa: Under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) city action plan and city water balance plan is being prepared for Khandwa.
Under JJM work, 33.33 % will be spent by the Union Government while 66.67% will be the share of the state government and the Municipal Corporation Khandwa.
The JJM launched by the ministry of urban housing and affairs, aims to cover all the urban bodies of the state between 2021-22 and 2025-26.
Khandwa municipal commissioner Savita Pradhan said that as per the instructions of directorate of Urban Administration and Development commissioner Nikunj Srivastava, Superintendent engineer Kailash Chaudhary has been assigned the work for making action plans.
Pradhan informed that under JJM works of upgrading the water sources of the city, developing water treatment and distribution systems, making sewerage treatment plans, rejuvenating water structures and developing green areas in the city would be done in a phased manner.
Action plans rejuvenation waterbodies and recharge of ground water will be sent to the state government for approval. Once approved the corporation will invite tenders for work.
