Madhya Pradesh: Accountant caught accepting bribe of Rs 500 in Ratlam

RATLAM: Ujjain Lokayukta team on Thursday trapped an accountant posted at Home Gaurd office while accepting a bribe of Rs 500. Deputy superintendent of special establishment of Madhya Pradesh police V Sharma said that team trapped Jitendra Kumar Pandey (ASI-M) on the complaint of one Rakesh Jat whose father Nanalal Jat lance naik Home guard died in February.

DSP Sharma said that Pandey demanded Rs 3,000 for releasing the provident fund and ex-gratia amount of Rs 2.51 lakh of late Nanalal.

Son of deceased Lance Naik had already paid Rs 2,000 to Pandey. He approached Lokayukta Ujjain and narrated his plight as despite paying bribe Pandey kept delaying the matter.

Based on his statement, Lokayukta team laid trap at Pandey's office and caught him red-handed. Pandey has been booked under relevant Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
