Alirajpur (Madhya Pradesh): A horrifying murder shocked the residents of Samalakund village in Alirajpur district late Friday night. A 52-year-old woman, Sarjubai Narsingh Damor, was brutally killed with sharp weapons by her brother-in-law and two nephews in a gruesome family dispute.

According to Barjhar police outpost in-charge Shiva Tomar, the victim had returned from a nearby wedding and was sleeping on her terrace when the accused, her brother-in-law Ramsingh Magan and nephews Setan Harsingh and Sannu Harsingh attacked her. The accused fled the scene immediately after the assault.

Sarjubai’s daughter-in-law Asha saw her and shouted for help, but the accused escaped under darkness.

Police reached the scene promptly, took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. A case has been registered under relevant sections and a manhunt is underway.

Due to the proximity of the victim's and accused's houses, police personnel have been deployed to prevent any further incidents. Barjhar police have assured that the absconding accused will be arrested soon and brought to justice.
