'Love-Jihad' in MP's Chhatarpur: Girl forced to convert to Islam, made to eat beef, claims father

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh) A sensational case of 'Love-Jihad' come to light in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, where a father approached Chhatarpur SP office and lodged a complaint informing that his daughter has become a victim of love jihad.

The complainant claimed that a man identified as Talib had changed his name to Tabbu and married his daughter. Talib alias Tabbu is a resident of Civil Line police station.

The complainant told police that Talib and his family were mounting pressure on his daughter to convert her religion to Islam, made her eat cow meat, learn Urdu and other things. "They kept on harassing her and later killed her when she refused to convert into Islam," said girl's father.

The complainant told police that Talib had introduced himself to his daughter as Tabbu and married his daughter six years ago. After marriage, he and his family started pressurising his daughter to convert her religion to Islam.

The complainant said, " Few days ago, I got a call from my daughter requsteing to save her. She told me that her husband and in-laws would kill her. When I went to see her, I found her in-laws house locked. The locals told me that my daughter had been killed."

After receiving information related to 'Love-Jihad', the top police officials swung into action and formed a team to investigate the matter. Talking to the media, City Superintendent of Police (CSP), Chhattarpur, Lokendra Singh, said that the application has been received and a team has been formed to conduct a thorough investigation in the matter. He added that further action will be taken as per the investigation report.

Allegations of Negligence on Civil Line TI

The complainant made serious allegations of negligence on Civil Line TI Rajesh Banjari Kishori Lal accusing that he has been pleading for his daughter continuously for the last two days. "No one is helping in the matter. Finally I reached the SP office and gave an application, after which the police came into action."
