The International Day of Happiness which started in 2013, is celebrated on March 20 every year. United Nations (UN) special advisor Jayme Illien founded and materialised this day to inspire and spread a happiness movement globally. The idea was first introduced to senior officials at UN by Illien, who agreed to it following which the day came into being with a global coalition of all 193 United Nations member states.
Happier Together is the theme for International Day of Happiness 2019. United Nations celebrates the International Day of Happiness as a way to recognise the importance of happiness in the lives of people. Various events celebrating happiness will be held across nations on this day.
How to define happiness?
Happiness is a sense of well-being, joy or contentment. When people are successful, safe, lucky, they feel happiness. The ‘pursuit of happiness’ is something we all try for. She further highlighted importance of happiness and said, “For a longest time, we’ve taken spirituality out of work, we’ve taken spirituality out of entrepreneurship, we’ve dismissed spirituality as being bogus or woo-woo. But the fact of the matter is, today if you want to succeed at what you do and succeed at life at the same time, you’ve got to tap into a spiritual care. Events today
Roccia Bliss is organising a Happiness Festival on Wednesday. As a part of this, they are conducting three programs into three different sectors on the same day to spread happiness. It will be in the form of a happiness ferry. The target sectors will be Devi Ahilya Bai Airport, NGO Astha Vrudhhashram at electronic Complex and at a private Hospital in Vijay Nagar area.
