Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore Institute of Pharmacy (IIP), a constituent institution of the IIST Group of Institutes, on Friday inaugurated a two-day International Conference on “AI-Enabled Global Drug Development Ecosystem: Integrating Intelligence across Drug Discovery, Clinical Research, Regulatory Science, and Patient Safety” in collaboration with Biovance Solutions, UK.
The conference brings together eminent academicians, regulatory leaders, industry experts, international speakers, researchers, healthcare professionals and students to discuss the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in pharmaceutical sciences.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Dr Montu K Patel, president, Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi, as chief guest, and Dr Deependra Singh, chairman, Education Regulations Committee (ERC), PCI, as guest of honour.
In his address, Patel highlighted the growing role of AI and digital transformation in strengthening pharmacy education and professional practice.
He also highlighted PCI’s digital initiatives aimed at improving transparency, accountability and quality in pharmacy education.
Group advisor of Sparsh and IIST Group of Institutes, Arun S Bhatnagar spoke about AI’s transformative role across sectors and its benefits in clinical research, regulatory science, drug discovery and patient safety.
IIP principal Dr Nimita Manocha said the conference is among the first comprehensive initiatives in Madhya Pradesh focusing on AI across the pharmaceutical product lifecycle.
