Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Kshitij Singhal, IMC commissioner, has assured the aggrieved industrialist that the basic issues in the industrial areas will be resolved very soon. He solved some of the issues on the spot while talking with the industrialist.
The industrialist had mentioned that the industries are surrounded by multiple civic problems; therefore, they are struggling to work there.
The decisions in this regard were taken in a meeting held between the IMC commissioner and the industrialist at the AIMP office on Friday.
Besides IMC commissioner Kshitij Singhal, IMC's additional commissioners Abhay Ranjangaonkar, Ashish Pathak, and Manoj Pathak were also present at this crucial meeting, which focused on the speedy resolution of problems facing various industrial areas such as Sanwer Road, Palda, Kila Maidan and Lasudia.
Executive members of the association, industrialists, industry representatives, and IMC officials were also present in the meeting.
Presenting the problems of the industrial areas, Yogesh Mehta, president of AIMP, apprised the commissioner of various issues plaguing the industrial areas.
Key topics discussed included: road and drainage systems; the digging of roads without subsequent repair; the need to redesign the railway over-bridge; increasing the diameter of ETP lines and installing new ones; constructing concrete drains to tackle waterlogging; sanitation and waste management issues including the failure of municipal vehicles to enter industrial areas and the lack of proper arrangements for regular garbage collection and disposal.
Mehta highlighted the serious problem of encroachment, because of which the convention centre has become unusable due to heavy encroachment in its vicinity, the lack of street lighting, and the need to simplify processes and resolve discrepancies related to water supply, property tax, and permits.
IMC commissioner Singhal listened to the industrialists' concerns attentively. He issued on-the-spot directives to the relevant departmental officials and emphasised the need for better coordination between the industries and the IMC through constructive dialogue.
The commissioner remarked, ‘Industries are the backbone of the city's economy. Providing them with a better and more conducive working environment is a priority for both the government and the IMC.
All issues will be resolved in a time-bound manner on a priority basis." He added that a follow-up meeting regarding fire NOCs would be held to determine an appropriate course of action that ensures both smooth industrial operations and compliance with regulations.
