Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Father of missing Sonam Raghuvanshi, Devi Singh Raghuvanshi, has hung her photograph upside down at the entrance of their residence after speaking to an astrologer, hoping for her return, as reported on Friday.

Disturbed by her long disappearance and son-in-law’s murder during their honeymoon in Shillong, Sonam’s father consulted an astrologer and said they left without informing anyone in an ‘inauspicious time.’

He said, “Sonam left without informing anyone and planned a trip despite no muhurat (auspicious time) for leaving home. After marriage, one isn’t supposed to leave the house for a-month-and-a-half.”

“I had even consulted a priest and fixed June 5 as the auspicious date for her formal departure from our home. I found out on the morning of May 21, when my son Govind, with a bag in hand, was taking Sonam away. When I asked, I was told that my daughter and son-in-law were going to visit Kamakhya Devi, via Indore, Bhopal, and then flying from Delhi."

‘Only miracle can bring her back’

According to him, there was no proper planetary alignment for the next one-and-a-half-months, and the only favorable day to leave the house was June 5.

“First my son left, and now my daughter… only a miracle can bring her back,” he added, being emotional.

Still hoping for her return, Sonam’s father took advice from an astrologer in Indore and hung her photo upside-down outside the house - a superstitious attempt to reverse fate.

Soman and her husband Raja Raghuvanshi went on a honeymoon to Meghalaya’s Shillong and went missing on May 23. Raja’s body was found in a gorge whereas the newly married woman is still being searched for.
