Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport has secured the third position among the top airports in India in the second quarter (April to June) of 2025, according to the latest Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey.

In the first quarter, it was ranked fourth. A slight improvement of 0.01 points helped Indore move up to third place with a score of 4.93 out of 5.

Goa and Pune airports tied for the top position with 4.94 points. However, Goa was given the first rank and Pune second, based on Asia-Pacific rankings.

Though Indore was once the number one airport in the country, it has struggled to regain the top spot in recent years. The ASQ report shows that while there has been a slight improvement in passenger services, it still fell short of becoming the best.

Low score in 2 areas

The survey was based on 31 parameters and it highlighted 2 areas where Indore received lower scores - staff courtesy in shopping and dining areas, and the availability of washrooms and toilets.

However, the airport scored a perfect 5 in ease of connecting to other flights, which is a significant improvement from the first quarter, where it scored zero in this area.

In the annual ranking for 2024, Indore came at 10th position with a score of 4.92. This was due to its lower performance in the first 2 quarters of that year when it failed to make it to the top 10.

Since then, the airport has been consistently working on improving its services.

Kolkata airport scored same as Indore’

Although both Indore and Kolkata airports scored 4.93 in the second quarter of 2025, Indore was ranked third while Kolkata came fourth. This ranking was determined based on their positions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Indore was at 58th and Kolkata at 59th. The same method was applied to rank Goa and Pune.

The ASQ survey included 16 airports from across the country. Indore airport management has stated that continuous efforts are being made to improve services, and further positive results are expected in the coming quarters.
