Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The foundation work of piers at the ISBT Metro station has started, signalling that very soon the Metro stations along the route would start taking concrete shape, said officials.
The metro work in the city is going on at full pace on the route from MR 10 to Robot Square. On the route around 100 piers and more than 10 girders have been set up.
The work is also going on through two segment launchers, one near the Chandragupta Maurya Square and the other near Radisson Square.
The metro has also set up segments on pebble sand near the MR 10 so that they could be easily picked and put in another place.
The work of the metro depot is, however, going on slowly. The depot is the place from where the launching of the metro would be done.
According to the officials of Indore Metro, it is expected that within a few months all the track slabs from MR 10 to Radisson will be put in place and ready for installation of tracks and electrification work.
Monsoon not affecting work
Officials claimed that the speed of Metro construction work would not be affected due to the monsoon, though they admitted that some electrification work might get hit due to the rains.
Financial progress 15 to 20 per cent
According to the officials, there were 16 stations to be developed on the 17.5 km stretch from Gandhi Nagar to Radisson Square. As per the reports issued recently by the Metro officially, by May physical progress was 7.57 per cent and financial progress was around 12 per cent. Officials, however, claimed that over 35 to 40 percent of construction work has been done.
