Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 38-year-old woman was crushed to death by a speeding truck after she fell off a bike while riding pillion with her husband.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Asha, wife of Kishore, a resident of Datoda village. The accident took place near Ralamandal in the Tejaji Nagar area on Friday.

Asha was riding pillion on a motorcycle with her husband when the accident occurred. The couple was on their way when the bike suddenly slipped on the road, causing both of them to fall.

In a matter of seconds, a speeding truck coming from behind ran over Asha, leading to her death. Her husband, however, survived the fall with minor injuries.

A team from Tejaji Nagar police station reached the spot, and the woman’s body was sent for postmortem.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the slippery road due to rain and speeding truck played a key role in the accident.

Police are currently scanning nearby CCTV footage and have launched a search to trace the truck driver who fled the scene after the accident.
