Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Energy secretary Vivek Porwal, who also happens to be chairman of the Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company, said here on Tuesday that the company should make serious efforts for digitisation in the field of line loss calculation, consumer services, invoice and so on.

“Digitisation will not only lead to transparency, but also speed up work. Supervision at a higher level will also then be a click away,” he added.

At the meeting of the board of directors of the power company at Pologround on Tuesday, Porwal said that people should be helped for net metering so that they can opt for solar energy. “The work of giving information about solar energy to people and sharing technology should be done on priority,” he added. He also said that, for quality control, West Discom should work very carefully so that the equipment lasts a long time and services are the least affected.

West Discom managing director Amit Tomar presented information on the work being done in the company’s sector, consumer services, supplies and other areas.
