Indore: Water Supply Disruption In Several Areas On Saturday Due To Narmada Pipeline Repairs

According to officials, all pumps of Narmada Phase I and II were shut down at 10:20 am on February 21 to facilitate the repair of a cable jointing kit in the 6.6 kV grid and fix a leakage in the delivery pipeline at the old intake well.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Residents of many localities in the city will have to water scarcity on Saturday, following essential repair work carried out on the Narmada Phase I and II water supply system.

According to officials, all pumps of Narmada Phase I and II were shut down at 10:20 am on February 21 to facilitate the repair of a cable jointing kit in the 6.6 kV grid and fix a leakage in the delivery pipeline at the old intake well.

The work was completed by 4 pm, after which the pumps were restarted. However, it will take until late at night for water pressure to build up at Narmada Control Room, delaying the filling of water tanks. The officials said that many colonies will receive no water and several others receive will receive water with low pressure on Thursday.

The areas connected with the overhead water tanks in Annapurna, Sadar Bazaar, Subhash Chowk, Gandhi Hall, Malhar Ashram, Maharana Pratap Nagar, Kushwaha Mohalla, Tigriya Badshah, Narwal, Agarbatti, Jai Hind Nagar, Banganga, Lokmanya Nagar, Dravid Nagar, Chhatribagh, Bhakt Prahlad Nagar, Scheme No 103, Jinsi Haat Ground and Raj Mohalla will face water crisis.
