City traffic police on Wednesday launched a special drive against police personnel. During the drive, 114 policemen were found for violating traffic rules and they were issued challans.  On the instruction of SSP Ruchi Vardhan Mishra, traffic cops started the drive at Regal Square and issued challans under Motor Vehicles Act to 114 policemen for riding vehicle without helmet, driving car without seat-belt and tripling.

A traffic police official said that the drive would continue at other places too. Apart from policemen, the drive for common riders or drivers is also on at various squares in the city.  Traffic police have also started a checking drive at various busy roads and squares to take action against vehicles with hooters, pressure horns, wrong number plates and the people driving vehicle after consuming liquor. From March 11 to March 19, 2019, police have challaned 8464 commuters for violating traffic rules.
