Indore (Madhya Pradesh): As the number of candidates coming to the collector's office for filing their nomination papers is increasing day by day, collector and district election officer Ilayaraja T. instructed tight security arrangements be made in the premises. He also inspected the security arrangements made on the premises and instructed the officers and employees to carry their identity cards (ID cards) with them. He also took stock of other arrangements for filing nominations.
Nomination papers for six assembly constituencies of the district, Indore-1, Indore-2, Indore-3, Indore-4, Indore-5 and Rau assembly constituency are to be filed at the collector office. The nomination papers of the remaining three assembly constituencies, Depalpur, Mhow and Sanwer are being filed at the tehsil headquarters.
All offices are being monitored through CCTV and an IT work station is set up in the office of each returning office. Videography of the entire nomination process is also being done. Five persons including the candidate only are allowed to enter the Returning Officer's room.
As per the schedule fixed by the Election Commission of India, nomination papers will be taken till October 30. The time for filing nomination papers is from 11 am to 3 pm. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be made on October 31. Candidates can withdraw their names till 2nd November. The date of voting is 17th November. The counting of votes will be done on December 3.
