Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A target has been set to double the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the city to Rs 2.70 lakh cr. from the present 1.20 lakh crore, by 2030. A blueprint of the ambitious plan was discussed in a meeting organized under MP Seva Sankalp and it was decided to draw strategies to promote IT, pharma, textile, food processing and automobile sectors to achieve the goal.
MP Lalwani, while sharing the blueprint with industrialists, said that the city had an excellent opportunity for development and all stakeholders, including the Centre, State and Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) would work together.
Rajesh Rathod, executive director, MPIDC, said that all the stakeholders had come on one platform and the city was ready for the flight of progress. Economist Jayantilal Bhandari explained the blueprint in detail and said that Indore was a city of hope and there was full possibility of doubling the GDP.
Sawan Laddha from MP Seva Sankalp talked about infrastructure development and connectivity in the last five years. Siddhant Nahta discussed the five sectors selected for growth and the plan required to double the GDP through a presentation. Prominent businessmen from various industries, including IT, pharma, food processing, automobile and textile were present in the programme.
