Indore: Speeding Truck Hits Two On Bike Returning From Temple, Both Killed

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two men riding a motorcycle were killed after a speeding truck hit their bike under Azad Nagar police station limits on Tuesday.

The accident occurred when they were returning home after visiting a temple. The impact dragged both of them several feet on the road. One of the victims died on the spot due to severe head injuries, while the other succumbed later at the hospital. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident.

According to police, the deceased were identified as Rajesh (42), son of Motiram, a resident of Depalpur, and Rohit (25), son of Nitin, a resident of a colony near Bengali Chauraha.

The family members said Rajesh and Rohit often visited Baba Bhootnath Temple in Rau together. On Tuesday as well, they had left home saying they were going to the temple. The accident occurred while they were on their way back.

The impact threw both riders off the bike, dragging them for several feet. Both suffered severe head injuries. Rajesh died on the spot, while passersby rushed Rohit to MY Hospital, where he succumbed during treatment late at night.

The police began to probe and are gathering information about the errant driver on the basis of CCTV footage.

Sudden steering swerve led to the accident

Family members claimed that the victims were riding slowly on one side of the bypass when the truck suddenly swerved and rammed into the bike. After the collision, the truck driver fled the scene at high speed.
